Letter From The Fire Chief

I'd like to take a moment to thank the Highlands Fire Department Officers that served in 2009.  Their commitment and service to the community is greatly appreciated.  We welcome the new year with several Officers returning for another year of service and with new installments to begin their new duties.

In late 2009 we began an initiative to provide the community of Highlands improved fire service and reduce response times.  Several Firefighters worked on and planned a duty crew schedule to better serve Highlands.  Lieutentant Chance Brown has taken on the responsibility to manage the schedule for Fire duty crews.

This initiative continues into 2010.  Our fire response times have improved as our duty crew schedule grows.  Our duty crews are scheduled on most nights and are housed at Station #2.  Our duty crew and our membership continue to show their pledge to serve and protect the citizens and property of Highlands. If you have any questions please contact Chance Brown at Station #1 281-843-2466.
