Medic-117 is a Frazier unit on a 2006 Chevrolet chasis. It is fully equipped for BLS with MICU capability.

EMS personnel are staffed 24 hours to provide the community with quick, effective, response when the need arises. M-17 and M-117 alternate as first out unit every 12 hour shift, however when the need arises both units are available for response to multiple incidents. Our EMS staff range in certification from ECA (emergency care attendant) to L.P. (licensed paramedic). Wether paid or volunteer, our EMS and Fire personnel are professionals who share a genuine concern for our patients and the communitie's well being.
The Highlands Fire Department participates in Mutual aid agreements with the surrounding communities which enable consistent coverage for Highlands and our neighboring cities. In a Mutual aid agreement our fire and EMS unit may respond to assist any of several EMS and fire services including but not limited to Baytown, Crosby and Channelview; the same can be said about the fire and EMS units of those departments as they will assist Highlands with its emergency needs when our units are unavailable or already responding to an incident.
